Working to Reduce Healthcare-Associated Infections

As part of AQIN, Delmarva Foundation quality improvement professionals provide hospitals in the District of Columbia with tools, resources, and technical assistance to:

  • Reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), including central line blood stream infections, catheter-associated urinary tract infections and Clostridium difficile Infections.
  • Improve care transitions and reduce preventable hospital readmissions.
  • Meet data reporting requirements for Medicare's inpatient and outpatient value-based purchasing initiatives.
  • Promote Patient and Family engagement to support care for hospitalized patients.
  • Integrate Antimicrobial Stewardship to appropriately target the correct use of antimicrobial agents.
