Anil Yallapragada MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of South Carolina – Palmetto Health Richland Hospital and also serves as the Medical Director of the Stroke Center. Dr. Yallapragada received his M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his Neurology Residency at the University of Chicago and Vascular Neurology Fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Ronald Reagan Medical Center. He has received numerous professional awards and recognitions including the Gold Foundation Human and Excellence in Teaching award, the South Carolina American Heart Association Legacy of Life Award, and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin Young Physician of The Year Award. Dr. Yallapragada was selected as a 2016 National Finalist for White House Fellowship. He has published in peer reviewed journals and has presented at numerous National and International Society meetings. He currently serves on the World Stroke Association Guidelines and Policy Board, the American Heart Association Mid-Atlantic Board, and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control Stroke Advisory Council. His primary research interests include Improvements in Stroke Systems of Care and health disparities in stroke outcomes and care.
